We leave Pier One in the Port of Malaga and cross Pier Two enjoying the "Palmeral de las Sorpresas" towards the Cathedral, located in front of the Plaza del Obispo and one of the most valuable Renaissance gems of Andalusia. We then pass the Picasso Museum, the old Palacio de los Condes de Buenavista and one of the two art galleries dedicated to this artist in his home city.
We then pass through the Plaza de la Merced, observing all the perspectives of the neoclassical Obelisk that stands in the middle as a tribute to General Torrijos. From here we can see the home which was the birthplace of Picasso. We continue to the Roman Amphitheatre, built by César Augusto in the ancient Roman city of Malaca. This buried gem was discovered in 1951 during the construction of the Palace of Archives and Libraries. In the middle of this journey through time, we go to the Alcazaba, a palatial fortification of the Muslim period at the foot of the Monte Gibralfaro. Here we can enjoy the beautiful views of the Bay of Malaga. Returning to the city, we roll up to the Plaza de Uncibay which gets its name from the Basque captain Fernando de Uncibay, who led the conquest of Malaga against the moors under the command of the Catholic monarchs.
We continue our journey through the Plaza de la Constitución to the famous Calle Larios, built in the 19th century by the family of the same name and converted today into the fifth most expensive shopping street in Spain. On our way back to our starting point, we travel through the wonderful Paseo del Parque that constitutes one of the most important parks in Europe in terms of tropical flora.
Finally we return to Pier One after travelling through time between an old and a new Malaga.
